DO YOU SNIFF COCAINE????????????????
There are many effects to cocaine. When you see these pictures do you truly want to try it out? I think not.
INFO: Cocain, is scientifically known as benzoylmethylecgonine. It is a crystalline tropane alkaloid(scientific stuff that you won't understand) and it is obtained from the leaves of coca plant(not to be mistaken for cocoa plant). The name comes from the plant+ the suffix and in the end cocaine is formed. Cocaine is a very addictive drug and people find it very hard to quit. This drug is a stimulant which arouses and excites the person. This drug, even though highly used, is illegal if it is non-medical or if the government hasn't approved of it.
It is made from plants called the Coca plant. ( No, it's not that fizzy drink you have all the time.)
The short-term effects of cocaine on the body are:
- mental alert - dilated pupils (Your pupils get bigger) As you can see, the pupil is really big. - incresed heart rate (Your heart pumps faster) - less appetite ( You are not as hungry and thirsty) - incresed body temperature (Your temperature is higher) - more energy (You are more excited) - incresed blood pressure
- Euphoria ( You feel happy, invincible, carefree)
The long-term effects of cocaine on the body are:
- addiction ( You don't want to stop anymore) - Paranoia ( You think everything is set out to hurt you, everything, everyone is dodgy and suspicious) - Restlessness - hearing hallucinations ( You hear stuff that isn't real) - mood disturbances ( You change moods quickly all the time)
Cocaine can be manufactured in many places but there are a lot of illegal cocaine dealing and manufacturing in Columbia for example.
Facts about cocaine:
- Some side effects are blured vision, vomitting, nasal infections, nose bleeds, quick breething, sweating, violent behaviour, twitching, chest pains and many more.
SELF EVALUATION:
Student (Self) Evaluation - At the end of the project, students must assess their own work and post results in the DISCUSSION section.

PERSONAL REFLECTIONS: Part 3 - Personal Reflections
1) List three things you learnt about drugs during this project. Firstly, i learnt that many drugs are used for pure pleasure and not medical reasons. I also learnt that drugs are really bad if used in excess whether they are medical or not. Finally i learnt that drugs can have a lot of negative effects upon your body such as lung cancer from smoking.
2) List three things you would like to learn about in the future concerning drugs. I would like to know whether sometimes some illegal drugs are prescribed by doctors because in certain cases it could be helpful. I'd think it would be interesting to know if Coca cola was truly used as a medicine before and finally if certain excess in certain drugs can lead to complete insanity.
3) List three things you enjoy about using this learning environment (Wiki). I really like this website becasue i can see what other people have to say about drugs. I think it is very interesting to see the comments from the teacher and students on other peoples pages and finally it's cool to see the layout and information students have. I also really like the fact that you can edit your friends pages and such.
4) List three things you dislike about using this learning environment (Wiki). Firstly, i hate the fact that we cannot move pictures once we have copied them on this website, it's really hard! The fact that people can edit your page can sometimes be a disadvantage as they can put really random stuff there and irrelevant or inapropriate information on your wiki page. Lastly, the fact that this wiki page is about drugs i find kind of dull:(
5) Do you prefer traditional written essays or creating a Wiki page for assessment? I like creating a wiki page for assessments because you can make a really attractive page with a cool layout which is much more inviting than an essay and much more fun to make.
6) How do you feel about contributing to other people’s pages? I like contributing to people's pages because it makes me feel that i am helping them and it shows i can learn a little about each and every drug.
7) How do you feel about other people contributing to your page? I think it's really interesting to see what people have to say about my page and it can be really helpful as well as useful because they can tell you where you're doing good and where you could do better.
8) How do you feel about self-assessment? I don't really like self-assessment because even if i did really good i don't dare put a good mark because people might find me pretentious..
9) Which topic do you feel personally was more beneficial in semester one – drugs or love? Well, i think the drug topic was more fun but i think that the drug topic was more essential and beneficial to me because i learnt a lot.
10) If you could choose your own topics for PSE what would you like to study?
